Antrim (Comté) Royaume-Uni

Le comté d'Antrim est l'un des six comtés qui forment l'Irlande du Nord. Adossé à la rive nord-est du Lough Neagh, le comté couvre une superficie de 3 046 kilomètres carrés (1 176 miles carrés) et a une population d'environ 618 000 habitants. Le comté d'Antrim a une densité de population de 203 personnes par kilomètre carré ou 526 personnes par mile carré. Il est également l'un des trente-deux comtés traditionnels d'Irlande, ainsi qu'une partie de la province historique d'Ulster. Les Glens d'Antrim offrent des paysages sauvages isolés, la Chaussée des Géants est un paysage unique et un site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, Bushmills produit du whisky, et Portrush est une station balnéaire populaire et une zone de vie nocturne. La majorité de Belfast, la capitale de l'Irlande du Nord, se trouve dans le comté d'Antrim, le reste étant dans le comté de Down. Selon le recensement de 2001, c'est actuellement l'un des deux seuls comtés d'Irlande où la majorité de la population est d'origine protestante. L'autre est le comté de Down au sud.
